staying in army is just like living in a cage. by all means, you can have any kind of life you want. good or bad, it all depends on yourself to a certain extent. honestly speaking, army life isnt that bad afterall. however the point is, you are still caged. despite
having freedom within the cage as you progress, you are still stuck in it. there is
no freedom for you to be
out of this cage unless it is unlocked for you. how ironic.
thus, you are detached from the outside world. as time pass, you will realise that your interpersonal relationships with the people around you weaken. you get distant from your family and friends. you dont seem to understand what are they thinking. you dont know how to communicate with them. you have no common topic to talk about. even with friend whom you communicate without the need of common topics, you have no common appropriate time to chat. your proper life is being interrupted. the entire world is moving on but you are held back by authorities. soon, you will realise that you become redundant. sometimes, you may even feel outcasted and lonely.
i dont deny that army taught me useful lifeskills, equipped me with interesting experiences, changed my attitude and perceptions towards life. but its causing several emotional problems.
if it wasnt because of army, a wife wouldnt be staying up late till 2300hrs, waiting for her dear husband to return home for dinner and desperately calling coy office to look for him. "please leave him a message that his food is cold.."
if it wasnt because of army, this gal wouldnt be suffering in this way.
