watching videos on how Singapore came by. how our people once suffered in troubles. how tough our fathers were when they first joined national service as the pioneer generation of soldiers. saying the pledge that we have always been reciting in sch days. i cant help but to feel a sense of patriotism despite knowing the fact that army is psycho-ing us.
i saw these words by a primary school kid, "never forget Singapore made by our ancestor's sweat", which acts as a reminder for me. indeed, what we are doing now is not just to protect the people of this land, but also to safeguard the sovereignty of this land, the land in which our forefathers and fathers have sweat and bled for. they have done their part, now its our turn. lets not waste their efforts.
im a Singaporean. im a soldier
now. as pledged on the first day of service, my job is to 'defend Singapore with my life'. hmm..but since theres no war
now, theres no need to serve till the extent of 'with my life' la. lolx.
