just came back from ndp pledge mobbing in junction8. it was a cool team formed by some millenium institute students, CPT koh, eugene, lexter and i. haha. for that 2hours of shouting in public to spread the word of pledge moment, i felt that my skin grew by 10layers. lolx.
"today is national day! take the pledge together! at 8.22pm! no matter where you are!"
this is often followed by stares and some cheers from the public. who cares. as long as the public gets the message can le. haha. pledge moment is the moment in which
all singaporeans are going to
take pledge together at the same time, no matter where you are. it is a meaningful event that all singaporeans,
feeling a sense of belonging, should participate.
but its is sad and frustrating to see some negative responses when i approach 'typical Singaporeans' to take pledge together with the rest of the crowd at the crucial moment which was approaching soon at that time. some stand by the side and gave excuses to not join in. while some simply just gave me the IRRITATED look when approached. wth! arent you Singaporean?! if you paiseh, just smile smile and reject me. its ok. but why give that IRRITATED look?! do you really detest your country's pledge that much?! if that is so, dont ever tell people that you are a Singaporean! *huff huff*
anyway in case you are still wondering what is ndp pledge mobbing, it is this:
